  • Optima battery is a gel battery, thus no need for a box or vent.

  • Note placement of cables. Both cables run inside the passenger side frame rail up to the front of the car.
  • Note the solid floor welded in the spare tire well for battery placement (16 gauge sheet metal used).
  • 1" square tubing welded to floor for tray frame.
  • 3/8" all thread and 1/4" flat stock used for the tray hold down.
  • Entire trunk sprayed with rubberized undercoating.

  • Positive cable comes from battery directly out the back of car to switch mounted in rear bumper.
  • Heavy plastic wire loom used where any abrasion may take place on cables.

Note the placement of the switch. The rear bumper support has been cutout for light weight. The switch can not be mounted in this factory hole unless support is cut and bumperette is removed.

  • Placement of switch.
  • With the decal removed, the switch is quite stealthy looking.

  • Positive junction box mounted on underside of floorboard, under front passenger's feet.
  • 1/0 gauge wire from battery to switch, switch to junction box (top wire).
  • 4 gauge wire from junction box to starter (left wire), and same from junction box to alternator (right wire).

  • Negative junction.
  • Bolt welded to passenger frame at same location as positive junction box (top of pic).
  • 1/0 gauge from battery to junction (right wire).
  • 4 gauge from junction to body (middle wire).
  • 4 gauge from junction to engine block (left wire).
