Project GRrrr

Stay tuned to see how fast
we can make THIS old G-Body go!

What is it?

  • 1984 Buick Regal T-Type WH1  (Only 1,163 made)
  • 3.8 liter 231 cubic inch fuel injected V6.
  • Single turbo (no intercooler).

What are we doing with it?
Well, we *were* going to compete in the $2005 Grassroots Motorsports Challenge, but due to a family emergency the project stalled out. A year has passed and that's behind us now, and now we're trying to have it ready for the $2006 Grassroots Motorsports Challenge.

The rules are simple, just spend $2006 on a car that can drag race, autocross and be concours judged. Teams have to buy, build and prepare a car while facing a strict budget cap of only $2006. More info @ www.grassrootsmotorsports.com

Ok... but why THAT car?
Yeah... we know. This car does NOT look good. In fact, it looks like crap. How it ends up running is what'll matter, so here's why we're building this car:

  1. All of the Team Members currently own a Turbo Buick or have owned them in the past.
  2. We know how to work on them and make them FAST!. Two of us have street driven 10 second cars.
  3. We've got a great network of other Buick owners to get ate-up used parts off of.
  4. Considering the money we spend on the other cars, $2006 split 5 ways on this car is a cheap way to go racing with a "new" car.
  5. We can't wait to see the look on peoples faces when they see how well this bucket does in the drag & auto-x events!
